Snowflakes in July?

Greetings!

That's right!  And what a beautiful sight!  Of course, I'm happy that it is only on paper, it is seriously way too early to even think of SNOW!  What I am thinking about is that Christmas will be here before we know it!  And I love making handmade cards for everyone, they are fun to make and even better to receive.  Here is a quick and simple little card I made to get me in the spirit, but has a wow factor too by using Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper for the snowflakes and the cute silver star embellishments.

Christmas Flurry Card

To make this quick card follow this card recipe:

  • Create your card base 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"  in Whisper White card stock.
  • Cut a panel 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" in Basic Black card stock.
  • Cut a panel 5 1/4" x 4" in Bermuda Bay.
  • Cut a panel 5" x 3 3/4" in Daper Denim using the Color Theory Designers Series Paper Stack.
  • Cut your snowflakes using the Seasonal Layers Thinlet Dies.
  • Stamp your image in black.
  • Apply your washi tape using the Bermuda Bay snowflake pattern to the Dapper Denim panel.
  • Adhere your snowflakes using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, sparingly.
  • Adhere your stars.
  • Attach layers onto the card base, and using Stampin' Dimensionals for the top layer to give the card some added dimension.

Here are the product details to make this fun card.  Hoover your mouse over image and the product information will display.

Since we all can use some Inspiration!

Greetings!

I was thinking the other day, that it seems to me that these days we are so busy and have so much on our plates that it is easy to get a bit overwhelmed.  I thought I need some reminders and inspiring messages that I can see right at my fingertips!  And then as I started thinking of how to go about this, and envisioning what that might look like, I thought, "Wow! These would be awesome to give to friends and family as gifts to place on their desks at work, or home."  I decided to go through the 2017 Stampin'Up! catalog to look for stamps with inspiring messages.  I found no shortage of them!  I actually created an Inspiration List naming the Stamp Set and the stamp phrase.  This made it very easy to pick and choose the phrases that I thought would be the best for each person I created a set for!  This project was very quick, fun and quite frankly, inspiring!  ;o)

I had this little base that I chose to use for my sample set.  You, of course, can choose anyway you would like to showcase these cards.  I also, kept them quite simple.  I used already created 2-7/8" x 3-7/8" cards as bases from our new Memories & More product line.  I used the Color Theory Memories & More Card Pack. (144210)  The stamp sets are varied.  I also added a few small die cuts for some dimension and of course had to add a bit of Wink of Stella on each card for some bling factor!  I will list these items below for reference.

So this is a view of what my cards look like in their holder.  Each day you can switch the card, or maybe, if there is a card that is really speaking to you, of course, let it be front and center for as long as you need it!  It is really amazing how just a quick visual of this little card can keep you focused, and centered on the positive.

This is a sampling of the cards I created.  The possibilities are endless!  Not only in the message they share, but in how you design and embellish them.  I can design a set of these for everyone I know and they will all be personal to each person.  I love that!

Sneak Peek: The new Designer Tin of Cards stamp set, using the Double Front Fold Technique

Don't you love sneak peeks?  New stamp sets? And trying new techniques?  Me too!!  I made a quick little video to show you this card and set because it's a whole lot easier than me trying to explain it!  Trust me, you don't want me to try...lol.  I also, posted some pictures of the card as well with some instructions below.

Double Front Fold Card  Double Front Fold Card #2  Double Front Fold Card #3

Double Front Fold Card #4

Double Front Fold Technique

  • Cut a card base (blue) 5 1/2" x 6 1/4".  Score at 4 1/4".
  • Then cut an interior card base (white) 8" x 5 1/4".
  • Cut Front and Interior panels (smaller panels). They can be sized based on the stamp images you are using, you will need 2 of each.  Since the panels will be based on your images, just make sure that both sets of the panels are the same dimensions.  (The dimensions of the smaller version below include the smaller panel sizes if you want to practice on one first.)

Dimensions for a smaller version are:  Card base 4 1/2" x 4" and scored at 3".  Inside card is 5 1/2" x 3 3/4".  Front and interior panels (smaller panels) 2 @ 1 3/4" x 2 1/2" and 2 @ 2" x 2 3/4".

Assemble as shown above:

  • Attach your interior card base (white base) back to the inside back of the Exterior card base (blue base) only.
  • Place your smaller panels on the front of the white base.
  • Next layer the top front (blue) as you wish, mine is with a strip of Designer Series Paper, then attach your small panels making sure that they  lineup perfectly on top of the panels on the white base when the card is closed before you adhere so the second front is a surprise!
  • Stamp your sentiment images on the back white panel and you are done!

I hope you make one, it's a fun card to make and even better to get!  I'd love to see your versions, please feel free to post!!

Until next time, wishing you days full of sunshine!

Terri
